“Our inclusive St Faith’s family strives to enable all to achieve their full potential and inspire a community of hope and friendship. We seek excellence by ensuring a safe, respectful and flourishing learning community, where differences are celebrated and our genuine love and high expectations make a difference to all.” “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” (Oscar Romero)

Today the children in class will be carrying out an assessment to check their understanding of place value to 20. This will involve answering questions about what the digits mean in a 2 digit number to 20, putting numbers in order from greatest to smallest or the other way around, saying one more or less than a number etc.

You can encourage your child to try to answer these questions alone, although it is perfectly acceptable to read the questions to them. If they seem to struggle, this will highlight gaps in their learning and you may want to talk to your child about how to answer these questions.

However you go about the task, please don't feel that your child must struggle on alone, if they need help then please support them, and if you are unsure of how to explain something then do get in touch with your child's class teacher.
