Day 1: Learn and retell the story
Practise retelling the story and then have a go at writing the refrain. The refrain is the repeated language in the story. ‘Run, run as fast as you can you can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread Man.’
Day 2: Create a story map
Draw your own story map and then see if you can write sentences to tell us who the Gingerbread Man met.
Day 4: Why did the Gingerbread Man not swim?
Can you write a sentence to explain what would happen to him?
Day 5: Make it a happy ending!
Can you re-write the end of the story to make it a happy ending for the Gingerbread Man?
