Nursery: Caterpillars

Welcome to the Caterpillars!

Hello and welcome!

*Meet the adults in the Caterpillar class*

The teachers in the Caterpillars class are Mrs Walton (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning), Mrs Talbot (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday).  The teaching assistants are Miss Goldacre and Mrs Taylor. We love teaching the Caterpillars and we are so proud of all of their achievements!

If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you!

*Our Christian Value for the term*

Our Christian value for this term is Trust.

Trust is the very essence of faith; trust in the God who is trustworthy.

Trust is essential to human life and lies at the heart of all relationships. Trust an mean putting yourself in others’ hands. We have to trust experts - pilots, dentists, surgeons – and our wonderful teachers, teaching assistants and all of our St Faith’s family, and be trustworthy ourselves.

John 14:1 (Jesus’ words to his disciples)

‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.’

*Our Learning for this term*
Summer Term 1 - 2026

As we return to school after our Easter break, we look forward to getting outside in the sunshine, watching the trees and flowers bloom and blossom in our garden.

This term our focus is Traditional tales, we will learn stories such as Goldilocks and The Three Bears, The Princess and the PEa, The Gingerbread Man along with others too.  As we listen and enjoy each story we will have focussed activities linked to the areas of the Early Years Framework, such as comparison of size in maths, learning about our families and how we are all different, baking and counting.

We continue with our pre writing program Squiggle While You Wiggle and support our children moving to Reception in September with phonics too.

This term we also look forward to watching our butterflies hatch, as we have watched them grow and change from Caterpillars to Butterflies!
