We seek excellence by ensuring a safe, respectful and flourishing learning community, where differences are celebrated and our genuine love and high expectations make a difference to all.” “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” (Oscar Romero)

Accessibility of the school

How accessible is the school?

As you enter the school site, we have a disabled car parking space, in easy reach to the main school. There are no steps as you walk through the site to the main entrance. On entering the school building at the main entrance, the  entrance is wheelchair accessible.

The teaching areas in school are all on one level. They vary in size, meaning that some rooms are smaller than others. However, we make sure when allocating classes to the children each year that the needs of the children are closely matched and any adjustments are made e.g. acoustics for children who are hard of hearing.

The school has a designated hygiene suite and a disabled toilet. If a child needed to use a wheelchair on a permanent basis, the school will look how this might be accommodated. The school would liaise with the appropriate Local Authority Officer to see if building modifications were possible, if needed.

The school hall has been modified in recent years, to make it more suitable for children with sensory impairments.

If a child goes to our wraparound care, The Fireflies, there is a ramp on entry and exit, and all activities are accessible to them.

Please refer to the school’s Accessibility Plan which is written in compliance with paragraph 3 of schedule 10 in the Equality Act 2010.
