Spring 1

Spring 1

Welcome back to all the amazing Butterflies. We hope you had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year despite it all being a little bit different at the moment. We are really looking forward to all the learning that is going to take place this term whilst we continue to look after each other and stay safe.

In phonics we will continue to learn the next sets of digraphs and trigraphs and apply these to our reading and writing. Shared reading will focus on Whatever Next, Mr Gumpy's Outing and Mrs Armitage on Wheels. All of which are journey stories and involve different transport. Our writing will focus on a story called The Sleepy Bumble Bee, and we will be encouraging everyone to write a range of sentences with increasing independence whilst continuing to develop our handwriting skills. In Maths we are continuing to develop our understanding and love of number including ordering numbers, and practical addition and subtraction.

Alongside all of this we will learning indoors and outdoors, challenging our ideas and allowing the amazing Butterflies to lead their learning as we plan our play together.

We are going to have a brilliant term!
