Welcome to the Ladybirds!
The grown-ups in the Ladybirds class are Miss Brighten and Mrs Hooton.
We all love teaching the Ladybirds and we are so proud of their achievements!
If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you!
Our school value for this half term is 'Compassion.' We are learning all about what compassion means to us in our St Faith's family. We are finding out how we can show compassion to others, not only in our St Faith's family but beyond. If someone shows kindness and a willingness to help others, especially when the person needs it, they are showing compassion for that person. We will understand why it is so important to be compassionate.
All of the children and adults in school will be recognising children who show wonderful compassion.
This is rewarded and celebrated at the end of term in our special Values Celebration Worship.
3..2..1.. Lift off! This term we are learning about Space! We will be exploring the planets in our solar system, building our own rockets to go to the Moon, creating our own solar system using Papier-mâché, and maybe even try some astronaut food!
In English, we will be writing narratives about Space, using books we are reading such as 'Whatever Next'! We will be continuing our progress in writing, making sure we are including capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops in all our work!
In Maths, we will be using our Maths No Problem books to look at shape! How many shapes have 4 sides? How many 2D and 3D shapes can we find in the classroom?
In Phonics this term, we will be working in groups, recapping Phase 3 and also Phase 5. We will also be reading lots of nonsense words to improve our reading and decoding of words!
