*Our Christian Value for the term*

Service in the Community

Our school value for this half term is 'Service in the Community.' We are learning all about what service means to us in our St Faith's family. We are finding out how we can show service to others, not only in our St Faith's family but beyond. If someone shows kindness and a willingness to serve others in need, to go that 'extra mile' to help others out, they are showing service to that person. We will understand why it is so important to show service to others.

All of the children and adults in school will be recognising children who show wonderful service in the community.

This is rewarded and celebrated at the end of term in our special Values Celebration Worship.

*Our Learning this Term*

We love learning in the Butterflies! This Spring  term we have been  learning about  "Living In An Icy World".  We began our learning journey by exploring the story "We're Going On A Bear Hunt".  We have made binoculars, learnt about what explorers need to help them on their way and even been on a real life bear hunt ourselves! We then learnt about the Arctic and Antarctica and which animals live in these parts of the world.  We made our own fact files, carried out our own  ice experiments and even create a penguin palace in our enchanted forest!  We had an "around the world in tasty ways" day and found out about how children in Iceland live and eat!  We loved learning about the Chinese New Year and made and performed our own dragon dance. Next term we will begin to look for signs of Spring. We have already created our own farm shop role play area. We will of course be following our own interests too!   Every new day in the Butterflies is an adventure for adults and children alike. I wonder where our learning will take us next?!  We LOVE coming to school!
