We seek excellence by ensuring a safe, respectful and flourishing learning community, where differences are celebrated and our genuine love and high expectations make a difference to all.” “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” (Oscar Romero)

Gardening Club

Gardening Club is led by Mrs Warner. Our green-fingered Year 2's love finding out about plants and growing cycles.

Focus of the club and objectives:

  • Eco gardening (& budget friendly!) – growing plants and veg/fruit from scraps we throw away
  • Wildlife friendly gardening- eco systems and micro habitats- what to grow to encourage and help these
  • From pot to plate- container garden recipes- encouraging knowledge of planting foods, how to maintain good growth and recipes to try at home with our grown veg/fruit
  • Wellbeing and mental health- getting outside in the fresh air, dirtying our hands and having a jolly good amount of fun!
  • Garden journals to take home along with reference sheets and afore mentioned recipes
  • Rainy day activities- plenty to do even if the weather isn’t smiling!
  • To go forward with a sound grasp of basic seed and plant knowledge, nature’s impact on the environment (and how we can help!) having the skills and experience to pass on and grow with time and finally to nurture a passion for all things green!
