Welcome to the Butterflies!
The grown-ups in the Butterfly class are Miss Wright and Mrs De'Ath. We also have lots of help from Mr Richardson and Mrs Gilmore!
We all love teaching the Butterflies and we are so proud of their achievements!
If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you!
Service in the Community
Our Christian value for this term is Service in the Community.
Living a life of service is about keeping your eyes open and looking out for ways to make others smile.
Jesus was called the ‘servant king’; his mission was to serve God and to serve all those people he met, through his teaching, his example and the way he led his life.
The Bible teaches us that we should all serve those in need, whoever they are, and ‘go the extra mile’ to put ourselves out for someone else’s benefit.
Who are the unsung heroes who serve us? Who are they at school and at home? How do you serve others?
We look forward to receiving your hand of service, to show how you have demonstrated an understanding of service at home.
We love learning in the Butterflies!
Last term we loved learning all about Autumn and enjoyed sharing the stories Owl Babies and the Stickman. We have started learning to read and recognising different letter shapes. We have all got to know each other and have become an amazing class family. We look forward to continuing to develop and show our value of friendship everyday.
This term we will be learning all about finding one more and one less as we begin to solve addition and subtraction in maths. We are continuing to follow the interests of every Butterfly and are starting the term with visits from the police and fire service as we learn all about people who help us. We are looking forward to learning more phonics and practising our reading to! Of course, we are all starting to get excited about celebrating Christmas together and enjoying all the lovely activities and learning that we have planned.
We have now learnt these letter sounds and are using them to read and write different words.
We have also learnt to read and write these tricky words. We can't sound them out that's what makes them tricky!
Keep practising at home too!
Our school value for this term is ‘Compassion’.
Showing compassion reveals the big and kind heart that you have. You show a kind, caring nature and a willingness to help others.
’Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as Christ God forgave you.’ Ephesians 4:32
’No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.’ Aesop
We will look forward to receiving your child’s heart, showing how they have been compassionate at home.
Our Learning this term
In the Butterflies we are continuing to develop our phonics and reading skills. We are learning new sounds daily and are trying hard to use these in our writing. We are all trying to read regularly at home and this is making a real difference to our learning.
Our new sounds this term are:
In maths, we are focusing on teen numbers and what these mean. Alongside this we will be practising ordering numbers and adding groups together.
We are continuing to learn different stories, follow the children's interest and have fun as we extend our skills and understanding.
Keep updated with our learning and our news!
