Spiders

Welcome to the Splendid Spiders!

Our topic for this term is:

Wriggle and Crawl

Science, DT and Art

Already this term we have been so excited to carry out lots of science investigations about animals and their habitats. We have searched for minibeasts using scientific equipment and used information books to learn more about them, sometimes recording our ideas on the app - Poplet!

We carried out our snail races today and had such an exciting time. We tried to be scientific and make sure it was a fair test. Look out for the photos on the website.

We have also used different paint techniques to create some fabulous minibeats art work.

Soon we will be investigating joining materials as we create our own insect homes.

What can I do at home to help my child?

Read, read and read some more!

We encourage the children to try and read at least three times a week. Sharing a story together at bedtime is just as valuable as reading school books with your child. Asking comprehension questions about the story and predicting what will happen next are important skills you can practise at home also.
