Our Christian Vision and Values

Our Vision

We are so very proud of all that we achieve at St Faith's, for all stakeholders.

Our inclusive St Faith’s family strives to enable all to achieve their full potential and inspire a community of hope and friendship.

We seek excellence by ensuring a safe, respectful and flourishing learning community,

where differences are celebrated and our genuine love and high expectations make a difference to all.

“Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” (Oscar Romero)

Our Value

Term 1 2023:  FRIENDSHIP

Our first school Christian value for the year was 'Friendship'. Friendship is our first value because it teaches us about how to care for one another in our school, in our homes and in our communities.

'Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends'. John 15.13

Term 2 2023: RESPECT

Our Term 2 Christian value was 'Respect'. Respect is an important value to us because it helps us think about what is holy and sacred. It is related to awe and reverence. We  learn about respecting each other, God's world and all the plants and creatures he created.

'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.'  Genesis 1.1

Term 3 2024: COMPASSION

Our term 3 Christian value is 'Compassion'. Compassion and ‘sympathy’ have much in common and both are stronger in meaning than simply ‘feeling sorry for’ someone.

The words have their roots in the idea of ‘suffering with’ someone, putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and experiencing what they experience.

‘Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’ Colossians 3:12

Term 4 2024: SERVICE IN THE COMMUNITY

Our term 4 value is 'Service in the community'. We focus on how we serve (or help) other people in our communities. Serving God means serving others. It also means that we cannot serve other masters as well - such as money. However, the Christian message is equally clear that service is not all about restrictions. It is precisely in a life of service that we become most truly free.

Galatians 5:13 Serve one another in love.  Matthew 20:28 I did not come to be served, but to serve.

Term 5 2023: TRUST

Our value in term 5 is 'Trust'. Trust is essential to human life and lies at the heart of all relationships. Trust entails vulnerability, putting yourself in others’ hands. We have to trust experts - pilots, dentists, surgeons and learn to be trustworthy ourselves.

Psalm 91:2 I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ John 14:1 (Jesus’ words to his disciples) ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.’

Term 6 2023: JUSTICE

Our value in the final term is 'Justice'. Justice means giving all people - particularly the poor and oppressed - what it is right and fair for them to have: life, health, freedom and dignity. It is about acting out of a concern for what is right and seeing right prevail. It is about social justice, especially for those who suffer most and are least able to protect themselves.

Psalm 11:7  'For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.’
