School Council

Our School Council are voted for by their class mates. They explain why they are interested in being a member of the School Council and then a secret vote is held. There are 2 School Councillors for every class, from Reception to Year 2. Nursery do not elect Councillors but we always ask for the opinions on things that we do.

We are very proud of the work that the School Councillors do in school.

The children in the School Council work with Mrs Konrath and meet regularly, either as a whole Council or in year groups. We will keep you updated on their projects and achievements throughout the year.

During the Spring term we have been considering our Reading Nooks in the classrooms, and our school library - what we love about them and how we could improve them further! We have also revisited our Plastic Free status.

Last year our focus was the reduction of single-use plastics. We registered with Surfers Against Sewerage and Plastic Free Lincoln. We achieved Plastic Free Schools status in August 2020, because of all of the hard work that the school council did last year. Congratulations to them.

Our School Councillors for 2021-22 are:

One year our Year 2 School Councillors really enjoyed meeting Lucinda. Lucinda is a Councillor in real life!

The children asked some fabulous questions, for example 'What do you do as a Councillor?' 'Do you like going to meetings?' 'Do you have to work at night?' 'Do you have any pets?' 'What is your other job when you are not a Councillor?'

Lucinda also asked the children lots of questions about their role in school. They were so good at answering the questions.

Lucinda also talked to the children about democracy and a manifesto, when they were explaining our system for voting for School Council.

Thank you so much, Lucinda, for visiting us and spending time away from your lovely baby boy.
