Accessibility of the school

How accessible is the school?

The teaching areas are all on one level and the main school entrance is wheelchair accessible. The school has a designated hygiene suite and a disabled toilet. The classrooms however, have restricted space. If a child needed to use a wheelchair on a permanent basis, the school would need to look how this might be accommodated. The school would have to liaise with the appropriate Local Authority Officer to see if building modifications were possible, if needed.

The school hall has been modified in recent years, to make it more suitable for children with sensory impairments. Individual classrooms have made significant adjustments to meet the needs of children with a sensory impairment.

Please refer to the school’s Accessibility Plan which is written in compliance with paragraph 3 of schedule 10 in the Equality Act 2010.
